The Square on Sunday. All the fun of the fair and a long awaited barman’s race as well. Details are a little unclear, but Paddy Power Bookmakers expect the going to be good to soft in places and say that some of the competitors will be carrying extra weight!!

Dress code: what ever you want to wear but be aware you will be performing FARM tasks on the day. Later on you will be on stage so bring a change of clothes, there will be changing facilities.
Tasks: All farm related and some will be on the clock.
Sheep shearing: By popular demand ! There will be sheep shearing if the contestants wish to participate.
On stage: You will be required to go on stage so you will have time to change. Winner will be announced on stage on the evening- you will be judged on your tasks, your interaction with the public, team playing, etc –
The judges will be totally independent of North Westmeath Festival Committee and Townspark Vintage Club and the judges decision decision is final.
ALL QUEENS PLEASE BE ON THE SQUARE AT 14.45 IN SUNDAY 1st MAY
All you will have to do is a few different tasks
like stack some bales of hay/ reverse a tractor lawnmower with a trailer/ count some sheep/ – things like that
All good fun and please note you don’t have to shear sheep !!!
Huge BBQ planned for the Queen of the Shears weekend in the square Castlepollard as well as the first bar mans race in years !-
All our local publicans will be taking part in a race on the day – not to be missed – Bring the family along for a great day’s entertainment
